What is the first thing that you don’t want to happen as a YouTube content creator?
A copyright claim
I believe these reasons are enough to keep you away from creating copied videos.
This can happen to you-
You have not copied anything from any video still you get copyright claims.
Or
You have used stock music, photos, or videos from a video-creating tool, and still, you get copyright claims.
To do this you need to go to your YouTube Dashboard
Now you can see here all the videos on YouTube which are using same resources as your videos. This section shows Video details, Channel name, % match, and Frames which are matching your videos.
To claim copyright you have two options-
In the “Matches” tab you have all the videos listed which have copied your content and also found by YouTube’s Copyright Match Tool.
Note: Do not raise a copyright claim for which you do not have rights. This can lead to the termination of your YouTube Channel.
If YouTube’s Copyright Match Tool fails to find the copied videos. But if you have found someone copying your videos you can still send them a Copyright Claim.
To check if your videos have got any copyright claims follow these steps-
Here you will see all your videos that have got a copyright claim. Now you need to take action for each copyright claim.
When you hover over each video you will see a box with “SEE DETAILS” click on that and you will see a box mentioning the details of the copyright claim.
As per the latest data, in the past few years, the most common types of copyright claims on YouTube were for music (approximately 60%), followed by television shows and movies (around 20%) and video game content (around 10%).

As you can see in the screenshot below, this video has a copyright claim for music.
Now, what to do?
You have 3 options available
If you have copyrights to the claimed music you can choose the “Dispute” option, else you can choose either of the first two.
There are two options available under removal options in the form-
I recommend choosing option 1 in most cases if you would like to give them a chance to remove your content from their videos. Considering it could be unintentional.
